Turkic States Fintech Alliance (TURKFIN)

Turkic States Fintech Alliance (TURKFIN) was established to enhance mutual cooperation among professional associations, unions, and foundations (non-governmental organizations) operating in the fintech field in Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. The alliance aims to promote the exchange of information and regulations in the areas of payment services, electronic money, banking, and finance; contribute to the development of the regional fintech ecosystem through joint events and projects; and strengthen digital trade and economic cooperation among its members.

TURKFIN was officially launched on October 9, 2024, with the signing of the cooperation protocol in İstanbul.

The founding members of TURKFIN are the Payment and Electronic Money Institutions Association of Türkiye (TÖDEB) representing Türkiye and the Azerbaijan Fintex Association (AzFina) representing Azerbaijan. Additionally, the Association of Payment Organisations (ASPO) from Kazakhstan, the E-commerce Association of Kyrgyzstan, and the Fintech Association of Uzbekistan have been accepted as participating members.

Following its establishment, the Chairmanship of TURKFIN's Board of Directors is held by the Chairperson of TÖDEB for the first three years, with the Vice Chairmanship assumed by the Chairperson of AzFina.

Furthermore, the Secretariat of TURKFIN is also managed by TÖDEB for a period of three years.

All activities of TURKFIN are conducted in accordance with the laws of the member countries, international agreements, and the protocol. TURKFIN's primary objectives are as follows:

  • Strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation among NGOs (professional organizations, associations, foundations) and member institutions in the Turkic States
  • Organizing joint events focused on the development of the payment and electronic money sector, fintech, banking, and finance
  • Arranging training programs and experience exchange initiatives
  • Sharing current data and information on finance, economy, payments, electronic money sector, banking, and relevant legal regulations in the member countries
  • Establishing the necessary prerequisites to ensure smooth movement of goods, services, and capital in the economic domains of TURKFIN members and stakeholders through various incentives
  • Providing coordination and creating a conducive environment for the development of joint projects among members
  • Undertaking every form of cooperation to develop and promote initiatives and projects that ensure integration in the field of payments in collaboration with the member countries
  • Carrying out other relevant activities among TURKFIN members, particularly in the field of cooperation and payments
