Blog 2: Never Share Your OTP Code!

What is an OTP?

OTP (One-Time Password) is a code created for one-time use and is valid for a short period of time.
It is usually sent in the following situations:
• To confirm online purchases
• For added security during banking transactions
• When logging into your account or changing your password

An OTP is an extra layer of protection for your accounts. Without this code, unauthorized access is not possible.

What Can Happen If You Share Your OTP?

The consequences can be serious:
• Money may be withdrawn from your bank account
• Your social media and email accounts could be hijacked
• Your personal and financial data may be stolen
• Illegal activities may be carried out in your name

‼️Warning: Bank employees, police officers, government officials, or any other authority will never ask for your OTP code.
If someone does — it’s a scam.

How Can You Protect Yourself?

✅ Never share your OTP code with anyone — even people you know
✅ Do not respond to suspicious calls or messages
✅ Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your accounts
✅ If you notice unusual activity, change your passwords and contact your bank
✅ Communicate with official institutions only through verified and official channels
